Condition | How it fits |
POTS | Supportive. Rice plus salt helps after being horizontal for hours, especially if I season it well or add a salty side. |
Lupus | Supportive. Soft carbs and simple protein are easy on my body when I’m wiped out and sore. |
Vestibular migraine | Supportive. This is one of my safest foods when my head is sensitive and nausea is nearby. |
I had a killer migraine again today. DHA is always good for kicking head pain so I went with a salmon snack.
Simple Salmon Rice with Seaweed
Ingredients (1 bowl)
¾–1 cup cooked white rice
3–4 oz cooked salmon (fresh or leftover)
1–2 tbsp mayo or dairy-free alternative
Salt, to taste
Crumbled seaweed snacks or nori sheets
Optional: very mild chili flakes or furikake (only on safe days)
How I make it
Warm the rice until soft.
Flake salmon and mix it into the rice.
Add mayo and salt until it tastes right.
Top with seaweed.
Eat slowly, sitting down.
Notes
Migraine rule: soft > crunchy, bland > bold
More POTS-friendly: add extra salt or eat with broth
Very low energy: canned salmon works just fine
