Symptom check-in

POTS: When I stood up to get water, my heart rate jumped. I got lightheaded and short of breath, and I felt like I might black out if I pushed it. I needed fluids, sodium, and food that did not require standing for long.

Vestibular migraine: I had vertigo even while lying still. Turning my head made everything spin. I felt nauseated, and bright light made it worse.

Lupus: My hands hurt and felt stiff. Standing at the stove was hard. I needed something I could make in minutes.

Condition

Works?

Why

POTS

Mostly

It gives fluids and calories, but it only helps POTS if I add sodium or drink electrolytes with it

Vestibular migraine

Yes

Cold, bland, non-acidic, and low smell - nothing sharp or triggering

Lupus

Yes

Minimal prep and easy to eat; I can add protein if I need it to last longer

Ingredients (1 bowl)

Base

  • 3/4 cup full-fat coconut milk (or coconut yogurt thinned with water)

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/2 cup frozen mango

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional: 1 scoop collagen or plain protein powder

Toppings

  • Banana slices

  • Mango chunks

  • Unsweetened coconut flakes

Steps

  1. Blend coconut milk, banana, and mango until thick.

  2. Add a splash of water if it is too thick to blend.

  3. Add a pinch of salt and blend for a second.

  4. Pour into a bowl and top with banana, mango, and coconut flakes.

  5. Eat sitting down. Lights low. Slow bites.
