Symptom Check in:
I've had a rash and low grade fever all day - classic lupus flare for me. I wanted a cold, antioxidant-rich drink that would calm inflammation without chasing sodium.
Disorder | Helpful? | Rationale |
Lupus | ✔︎ Yes | Berries supply anthocyanins; coconut milk adds lauric acid; collagen offers glycine—together they dampen oxidative stress. |
POTS | ✖︎ No | Sodium < 100 mg—won’t raise blood volume. Add ⅛ tsp salt if you need it. |
Vestibular migraine | ⚠︎ Caution | Dairy yogurt is moderate histamine; swap coconut yogurt if fermented dairy triggers you. |
Quick recipe (1 large mason-jar serving)
Ingredient | Amount | Notes |
Frozen strawberries | ¾ cup
Frozen raspberries | ¼ cup
Full-fat coconut milk | 1 cup | Shake can first |
Strawberry yogurt | ¼ cup | Use coconut yogurt for low histamine |
Unflavored collagen peptide powder | 1 scoop | ~10 g protein |
Optional: raw honey | 1 tsp | Only if you crave sweetness |
Blend everything but a few raspberries until thick; layer remaining berries and extra yogurt for that “swirl” look. Total standing time ≈ 3 min.
